Robe Enthralls with One-Of-A-Kind “Fifth Dimension” Show Concept

GERMANY: Robe has turned up the volume and the imagination with “The Fifth Dimension” – a blockbuster live show concept, which captivated audiences with its cinematic storytelling, gravity-defying acrobatics, and an arsenal of more than 360 high-impact fixtures.

Crafted by Robe’s in-house dream team led by Nathan Wan and Andy Webb, the show cleverly integrates performance and product demo, transitioning across five decades of music while seamlessly showcasing a powerful line-up of Robe technologies. Starring acrobat Oskar Skrypko alongside dancers leaping through time to a retro-futuristic soundtrack that nodded cheekily to 1980s sci-fi with glowing “Cpulser” stereos and ET-style escapism; the 10-minute production spotlighted a narrative that was tightly woven to demonstrate each lighting fixture’s role in real-world production scenarios.

Commanding centre stage in more ways than one was Robe’s new SVB1—60 of these versatile, pixel-mappable moving heads were layered across the stage, forming both backdrop and interactive floor array. Also taking a starring role, the new WTF! (Wash Twist Flash) strobes lived up to their name, pumping retina-searing effects with a colour-correctable linear strobe that impressed with both subtlety and punch.

Robe’s new SVB1, alongside the new WTF! (Wash Twist Flash), LedPOINTE, iESPRITE LTL, iFORTE LTX, iBOLTS, T31 Cyc and T31 Cyc Slim, SvoPATTS, TetraX and Tetra2 LED battens created a mesmerizing visual canvas for audiences to enjoy.

Another standout was the LedPOINTE, the first LED version of Robe’s famed Pointe family, hailed for its rapid movement and sharp beam-to-wash transitions. Supporting cast included the mighty iESPRITE LTL, iFORTE LTX, and the flexible iBOLTS—all of which underpinned the show’s technical gravitas. Robe also debuted the compact T31 Cyc and T31 Cyc Slim, the newest members of its theatrical T Series.

The SvoPATTS proved that scenic and powerful are not mutually exclusive, while the 48 LedPOINTES delivered mesmerising effects with laser-precise optics and creative range. Alongside these, TetraX and Tetra2 LED battens painted the set with sweeping light sheets and hypnotic pixel mapping.

The entire show was brought to life using an Avolites D9-215 console and clocked in at a staggering 2,030 programmed cues and 723 effects across 16 timelines, lighting up 64 DMX universes with extraordinary finesse.

Beyond the spectacle, Robe used the show to highlight its strategic brand synergy. Avolites revealed its new D7 consoles, LSC Systems flaunted the UNITOUR portable power distro solution, Artistic Licence premiered the intuitive artPlay touchscreen controller, and Anolis showcased its architectural Agame range with seamless 180° beam angles and pristine white-light variants.
