One Systems’ Expertise Equals NE-YO’s Showmanship in Epic Thailand Concert Knowledge Hub Latest Live by Elton - December 17, 2024 From immersive bass to crystal-clear highs, One Systems delivered a flawless live experience at IMPACT Arena. NE-YO’s “Champagne and Roses” Tour dazzled fans at the IMPACT Arena in Muang Thong Thani, Thailand, marking a landmark moment in the artist’s career. Known globally for his smooth blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop, NE-YO has long enchanted audiences with hits like “So Sick,” “Miss Independent,” and “Closer,” all of which showcase his knack for melding heartfelt lyrics with catchy, sophisticated melodies. His Thailand performance, held in late October 2024, not only brought his dynamic presence to one of Asia’s premier live venues but also elevated his reach in Southeast Asia, solidifying his place as a truly international star. For fans, this concert was an unforgettable experience, defined not only by NE-YO’s magnetic stage presence but also by the exceptional production values that enveloped the entire performance. With a commitment to providing an immersive concert experience, the event organisers commissioned One Systems Global Production, a renowned name in technical production solutions, to handle the concert’s intricate audio and visual requirements. Tasked with translating NE-YO’s visionary performance into an audacious sensory experience, One Systems took on the challenge by focusing meticulously on every aspect of the IMPACT Arena’s environment, audience layout, and acoustics. This approach culminated in a production that blended state-of-the-art sound and lighting, crafting a multisensory environment that kept the audience captivated from start to finish. One Systems’ audio plan centered around an all L-Acoustics setup, leveraging the company’s world-class loudspeaker solutions to deliver consistent, high-quality sound across the expansive venue. The main PA system featured over 24 units of the K2 line array modules, configured in a stereo hang that effectively captured the full breadth of NE-YO’s vocal range and the rich instrumentation accompanying his set. Each line array module in the K2 system shares identical voicing characteristics, allowing One Systems to create a harmonised sound field that reached from the arena’s front rows to its furthest seats with remarkable clarity and presence. Front fill reinforcement, essential for ensuring balanced audio coverage across the width of the stage, was accomplished using 14 units of the L-Acoustics KARA II modules. The KARA II’s compact yet powerful profile provided ideal front fill support, blending seamlessly with the K2 line arrays and maintaining consistent sonic quality. This careful coordination between the K2 and KARA II systems allowed One Systems to adapt sound coverage dynamically, ensuring every audience member was treated to an engaging and immersive audio experience. Low-end impact was another key focus of the audio design, accomplished with the deployment of over 24 units of L-Acoustics’ KS28 subwoofers. These were strategically positioned within the main PA layout to envelop the audience area in deep, resonant bass, adding a visceral dimension to NE-YO’s performance. The KS28 subs, with their exceptional low-frequency response, complemented the rich mid and high frequencies of the K2 and KARA II modules, resulting in a robust and balanced soundscape that kept the crowd enthralled. To provide NE-YO and his band with top-tier monitoring, One Systems selected L-Acoustics’ high-performance monitors and loudspeakers as the floor monitoring solution and additional artist reinforcement solution, which ensured that NE-YO and his performers could hear every nuance of their performance without interference. The powerful sound system was brought to life with multiple units of L-Acoustics’ LA8 and LA12X power amplifiers. Renowned for their efficiency and reliability, these amplifiers provided the necessary power to drive each loudspeaker module to its peak performance, contributing to the clarity and consistency that characterised the audio experience throughout the concert. Managing this sophisticated sound system was DiGiCo’s Quantum 7 digital mixing console, a powerhouse known for its versatility and intuitive control. Positioned at both the FOH and monitor stations, the Quantum 7 console allowed the audio engineers to tailor every aspect of the mix with precision, ensuring that each song resonated with clarity and energy. The sound design was further enhanced by a dynamic lighting display that danced in synchrony with the music, illuminating the stage with vibrant colours and intricate patterns that underscored the emotion and energy of each track. With an emphasis on blending audio and visual elements, the lighting design helped create a unified atmosphere that elevated the audience’s experience, turning the IMPACT Arena into a glowing canvas that transformed with every beat. Ultimately, NE-YO’s “Champagne and Roses” tour stop in Thailand stood as a testament to the potential of combining technical precision with artistic vision. The collaboration with One Systems Global Production resulted in an event where every element—from the crystal-clear vocals to the immersive lighting—was expertly calibrated to reflect NE-YO’s unique style and stage presence.
