THA: Shure Conferencing Network Powers 7th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable Live by Thomas Richard - December 4, 2017 Jointly organized by the Government of Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, the 7th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable (AMER7) was successfully held on 1-3 November 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. Over 300 attendants from 30 member countries and related energy organizations came together in this conference to identify secure, affordable and equitable energy transition pathways in Asia. Shure Conferencing Network (SCN) rental partner Mighty MICE was appointed to support this biennial event with simultaneous interpretation and discussion systems. An integrated solution consisting of Shure DDS 5900 and DCS 6000 Digital Conference Systems, as well as DIR Digital Infrared Audio Distribution Systems were deployed to deliver pristine audio quality to conference attendees. AMER7 occupied three ballrooms at the Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok. One of the key challenges was the effective distribution of digital infrared signals across all rooms, given that interpreter booths were located in a different venue than the opening ceremony, press conference and working lunches. Mighty MICE set up five interpretation booths with 10 Shure IS 6132 P Interpreter Units, all centrally controlled by the DIS-CCU 6000 Central Control Unit. Four units of RA 6025 Digital Infrared Radiators were set up to ensure reliable infrared signal coverage throughout the main ballroom, while a total of 325 units of DR6032 Delegate Receivers were available to allow delegates to listen to the speakers in their preferred language. “The client didn’t have any experience with the Shure Digital Infrared Audio Distribution System, so the ministry officers asked to test it several times in the days leading up to the event. The smooth test runs finally provided the Ministry with confidence and high hope in a successful execution of the event” recalls Mr. Papon Wanitchapiwong of Mighty MICE. Mr. Anek Jankana, Mighty MICE’s Chief of Technician adds, “Our technical team was so thrilled to receive a thumbs up from the professional interpreters as well. We are glad to see that our equipment and set up could help them to deliver a great performance.” To facilitate structured discussion among delegates, 50 units of DC 5980 Discussion Units powered by one DIS-CCU Central Control Unit were provided in the main ballroom. The integrated web-based control software within the Central Unit allowed the technical staff to easily and efficiently configure, control and manage the conference equipment throughout the event. Mr. Papon concludes, “The client was very impressed with the performance of the Shure Digital Conference Systems. Also following our successful execution of the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union event in Bangladesh in April 2017, we have earned the Ministry’s trust and confidence in our event support capabilities, and have been asked to work with them again in the very near future.” www.shureasia.com Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
